Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

I am trying to psych myself up to go to a friend's Christmas party tonight. I also need to pack, and do some dishes. But I feel I should go be merry and suchlike...and I think I'd enjoy it while there, but the getting dressed up and looking OK and driving out there seems like such a hassle.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We have been drama free. My sister and brother in law are visiting. After we were shopping we stopped to have lunch. Olivia then proceeded to tell my brother in law that you feed babies with your boobies. Or you squeeze milk out of them (with hand motions) to put in a bottle to feed them. She then fed her stuffed tiger cub at the table.

I thought my brother in law was going to choke he was trying so hard to NOT laugh at her very serious explanation.

Totally awesome.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm in MI with my sister and her family. Of four people in the room, three are tapping on computers. I love my family.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Dude!! What sport? Or at least, winter or summer, team or individual?

Softball. Sydney olympics.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Olivia then proceeded to tell my brother in law that you feed babies with your boobies. Or you squeeze milk out of them (with hand motions) to put in a bottle to feed them. She then fed her stuffed tiger cub at the table.

I love it.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

OMG family gossip! Everybody has to spill on theirs since we don't know your families! Although ours has been mild this year. The SO called me at one point to say our racist uncle was making an idiot of himself as regularly scheduled and I should take a little longer at my errands. So I took a while looking at nail polish and by the time I got home all was well again. I usually have to walk out on him, but with the SO's help didn't have to this trip.

I could fill the rest of this thread with stories of my neighbor S's sisters' drama, but not mine...Well, SIL's, but...

Nice visit so far.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We debated democracy, intersex, performative sexual orientation, insurance and society, obsession with TV. Also Hollywood gossip with clips, and lots of technical troubleshooting.

I'm tired now, but not yet sleepy. Work it Ambien.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, I remembered ours. My niece just got dumped by her boyfriend in Afghanistan, which would have been less awkward if she weren't living in his parents' house. Oops.
