Yep. I change my oil every 5k and get recommended maintenance done every 15k, and I've had very minimal car issues over the years as a result.
For those without an owner's manual handy, the recommended intervals for oil change (and the routine maintenance that goes with it) can be found by plugging in your car's year/make/model info at CalRecycle's Check Your Number page: [link]
I'd crack out the manual or consult a professional for the more serious stuff though.
I have to post this [link] because it made me laugh SO HARD.
QQ: employee performance evaluation given at a restaurant, and in the same town as the place of employment. Unprofessional?
Unprofessional?
Highly.
Too bad that oil change calculator doesn't have cars before 2000.
Huh, it says I only need to change my oil every 7,500 miles! So I think the oil change/rotation now and wait till 30K for a full-scale maintenance seems good; maybe I'll do the 30K a little early but then continue on the 15Kish intervals, which seems to be working well for people.

It depends. Have other employees gotten evals at restaurants? Was it a place were you'd be easily overheard by other employees? was salary discussed? I have actually had reviews done in restaurants, because my boss wanted a MORE private place than my office plus he wanted to buy me lunch as part of a "good job" eval.
