Oh, I wish those council guys would let me have an hour alone in the room with her, if I was larger and had grenades.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Jen, I have done that more times than I can count with Burt's Bees chapsticky things. And every time I'm all bewildered, wondering why my newly clean laundry is mysteriously minty fresh and kind of water resistant...

The cats wondered why I was doing a little chair-dance of tech triumph

The dog is mainly disturbed by my doing the scream of tech despair.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Morning! I feel better! I braved coffee, not tea, this morning, and it feels like ma brain is operating at 80% instead of 5%.

I must be getting better!

I was going to make sangria for the NYE party, but now am considering making a crock pot of marshmallow-laced cocoa, with real cinnamon whipped cream to put on top.

Morning all!

Tep, I'm glad to hear you all are not a headline in the morning news. Sorry about the elbow, though!

Me, I got up early to run but I'm definitely sick--I've got a sinus infection just in time for the holiday, woot! And right now is the only down-time I have today: in an hour I'm off to a holiday brunch, then I go see my folks, then I race back home, feed the dog, change my clothes, and go to the theater to usher. I wish I could pass on one of these obligations and just nap, but I really can't.

I can't wait until I get the job sorted out so I can go back to Kaiser and have someone help figure out why every time I get a mild cold these days it turns into a sinus infection that lingers for weeks. Man, I miss Kaiser.

Okay, off to throw another load of laundry in the wash.

How do you make marshmallow flavoring, anyway? Marshmallows are just sugar, gelatin and vanilla.

I dunno, but now I am thinking of trying to make marshmallows for NYE. [link]

I don't have a candy thermometer. I bet my mom has a couple; I'm going up north to visit her today.

Too bad they don't make silver food coloring.

I needed to make 60 cookies.

I have 90. (Also, assembly interruption. Filling was sitting on the stove and is too runny to use at the moment....)

Because books.

I'm making cookies later. Not 90, though.

After spending yesterday being All Hungover All the Time, I'm making a list of things to do today, which involves getting stuff ready to mail, more cookies, cards, and writing my Yuletide story (I hope).

It's to the soft ball stage. I have a candy thermometer, but I used the spins a thread, soft ball, hard crack method for so long that I tend to do both.

I have 90.

Wow, I just created an amazingly well-suited-to-me Pandora station. KLF radio, because I haven't heard The KLF in a while (and oddly, I still haven't, what up, Pandora? ETA: There it is!) but so far I've heard Alphaville, Erasure, Depeche Mode, the Thompsome Twins, now we're on the Police. Hello, young Jen!
