The weirdest thing just happened. Huh.
That's one happy Santa. As well he should be.

I might as well be in my PJs, but I had gotten nothing done until my last post, and since then, I did the dishes and put in a load of dish towels and cloths.
OK, is it weird that I won't wash certain things together? Is it even sensical? Like, I can't stand the thought of putting the bath matt (it's a towel, really) in with, say those dish towels, even though I wash it all on hot, because I'm weirded out by bathroom floor germs (or any floor germs, really) mixing with the things I wash and dry my dishes with. Is that just stupid, because the soap and hot water are there to GET RID of the germs, and what's more, any leftover germs are going to co-mingle anyway because it's all getting washed in the same machine?
Logically, I feel like I should be able to mix those things, but it still just feels wrong. Someone set me straight and free me from this oddball thinking, please.
I really need to do some purging of stuff in my home. In looking for some audio cables I discovered accessories for my first cell phone, a disk of screensavers from the late 90s, probably a dozen phone cords and a notepad (with ET on the cover) that has notes from the X-Files computer game. Is there anything useful, or not wasteful, to be done with old software discs?
The weirdest thing just happened.
That's awesome.

Polgara is the AWESOMEST
JenP, if that is your OCDest quirk, then I say embrace it.
It's not like you have to say the Magna Carta three times as you wash you hands.
However, if the bathroom mat is white, I say, dump some bleah in, add extra soap and wash on hot with other white or pales.
But I wouldn't let it fash you if you can't get rid of the EUCH feeling.
I'm making banana-orange bread (which smells amazing!) and I'm working out the new speakers on the computer as I futz with various xmas playlists and add new songs since I now have a Terrabyte of external hard drive for my music. (I filled up the other one to capacity. Currently have 26,795 songs on iTunes.)
Matilda went on a playdate but came home early 'cuz [TMI] she was feeling constipated. I think maybe a side effect of the meds she's been on. So I made her a smoothie with both mineral oil and fiber powder disguised inside and she drank it up and we're watching cartoons.
Emmett's off on a sleepover with his friend Jake.
Tomorrow: Birthday party for Matilda's old daycare buddy. Then Christmas cookies. Then we'll go walking down to the giant Christmas tree in GG Park, and we'll take cocoa and cookies and we'll sing: "Jingle Bells / Batman smells..." as we walk under the tree and get blissy on chocolate, crisp air and shiny lights.
Hmph, mixed bag today.
Pro:
• I got started on cutting pages I actually want to keep out of magazines and thus have pitched a score or so of them in the trash.
• I got a lot done at work in a relatively short time this afternoon (12 illustrations drawn and scanned, 3 placed in pages that were ready, all from 1pm to 3:30pm)
Con:
• headachey
• Hyooge crowd at Olive Garden (they couldn't even give me a wait estimate) forced me to opt for a convenience store hamburger.
• I couldn't get in touch with my cousin to plan a visit and dinner out tonight. Today would have been the perfect chance to go see her before Christmas.
• Insurance statement arrived telling me they're springing for about $400 less of my hospital bill than I'd thought based on yearly deductibles.
Oh, yeah, it's definitely my OCDest quirk. It just feels wasteful, because sometimes the combinations mean a small load, and that feels [because it is] wasteful. I really should just do some research, reassure myself [or find out it's all a big lie anyway, and nothing is as clean as I think it is], and get over it.
ita + polgara + Santa's lap = awesomeness
That's a great photo, ita. I snerked out loud when I figured out what your shirt was saying.
