You're nice, and you're funny and you don't smoke, and okay, werewolf, but that's not all the time. I mean, three days out of the month, I'm not much fun to be around, either.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

so, in Beau's class a student had to go home unexpectedly last week. He knew the student had an issue with family, but he also thought it might be end of the term stress.

Come to find out, Beau's student's father was deported! Damn. The student's mother is not taking this well. He insisted that the student take an incomplete even though the student didn't want to.

Damn damn damn.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I... Really don't like Jezebel. I'm sure it's partly founded in truth, partly hysterical.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I know! And I'm pretty sure that Siouxsie either has made a pact with the Devil, or has a magical portrait hidden in an attic somewhere.

As I've mentioned, I saw her live in 1991. Outdoors, daylight, and she looked her age and then some. So, really, I think it's more pact with a good plastic surgeon.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm sure it's partly founded in truth, partly hysterical.

It took most of the fibres in my being to substitute "overwrought" for "hysterical" in my post. Which might mean I've been spending too much time on Jezebel...who knows?

I enjoy reading Jezebel, but I do think they're 75% hypocritical and full of crap. I'm stunned by how seriously some of the posters take them, given you don't have to peel back much of the covers to get to page-view whoring. I do worry, now that stars seem to be cross-network, that I'll say something on Jezebel and get destarred on IO9.

He insisted that the student take an incomplete even though the student didn't want to.

OMG, not a time to get principled. Take the incomplete and pay attention to your family!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Take the incomplete and pay attention to your family!

Seriously. Poor student! Poor student's dad! Yikes.

Having read it now, I think the complaint is generalizable to every work function ever. On the other hand, philosophers aren't the most socially adjusted people; jobs aren't reserved for people who are fun at parties. If so, I'd be living in Cambridge.

Trust my rage

Come to find out, Beau's student's father was deported! Damn.

This country just exhausts me sometimes. Between the intentional break up of families and Rick Perry associating gays in the military with "Obama's war on religion", sometimes I just feel like quitting.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, I love the point of the cold where you just want to tear your face off.

Okay, the best thing the Gawker network has taught me recently is how to best reheat pizza. If you nuke it for a little and then drop it in a hot skillet for a little, Papa John's pizza tastes as good (or as bad, but at least the same) as it did when it showed up at your door. Given the huge drop in quality when you reheat a mediocre pizza in the oven, this makes a big difference.

Oh, cute! That's one of Colin's exes in the Samsung Apple-bashing ad.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

What does the nuke step add that's better than just covering the skillet?
