I really want some sort of medical intervention with injections and plumpers to make my face look less awful.
Retin-A. Much cheaper than injections and plumpers - those don't last anyway. I need to go back to my derm and get a new prescription for it. Until about a year ago I was using it about 3 times a week. Then I got lazy. I can tell the difference.
But I could live without the noises my knees make. It's like goddamn popcorn in there.
Yeah, the knees are not going to get better. All that soft tissue degrades. You lose your elasticity and bounce.
They don't hurt (yet), which is good, and I have full range of motion (for now) (also good), and I'm not sure I've ever been bouncy. But OH GOD THE NOISE.

Yeah, it's not so much range of motion. It's that the cartilage that cushions between your joints gets squished down and so bones don't have the cushion in the joints that they used to. So pushing off to get up from a squat is literally a bit of a grind.
For the record, I wash my hair about once a week, sometimes less if I haven't done anything sweaty. My scalp got with the program pretty quickly, and now it takes a long while for my hair to stop feeling clean after I wash it. This also means that I can pin-curl it a lot less often and still have curls or waves most of the time-- my hair holds a curl really well.
In fact, I am pin-curling my hair right now so it is extra-curly for the Yule Ball tomorrow night!

Yay! RetroHolli! Does Mr. Flowersocks know how to waltz?
It's my eyes. They don't work, you know, good like they used to,
On the other hand, the bacon chocolate bar is hitting the dinner spot,
Well, the Yule Ball is being played by a bunch of wizard rock bands, so I'm not sure waltzing will be called for. He can definitely swing dance, though-- we went last week.
I am wearing a 50's party dress with silver shoes and a silver mini witch hat fascinator. Mr. Flowersocks is wearing Ravenclaw colors and a vintage choir robe I found at the thrift store.
OMG, I went to my optometrist today (for the first time in three years) and he said, "Well, I can say that you don't have glaucoma now," in a way that totally sounded like, but you will have shortly. Which I knew, but still scary, and I need to get back going regularly even though my eyes settled (at very bad). I'll be getting new glasses for the first time since 2002. !
I have years and years more of regret than some of you. *sob*
The knees started making noise in my teens, though. I had some sympathy for the evil stepsister whose knee creaked in the Rodgers and Hammerstein Cinderella.
eta: I had to fix a misspelling. It's a sickness.
Kill me now. I have been trying to edit a paper for my sister all night. The procrastination has been worse than writing one of my own. But I am so tired and I want to go to bed.
In my own defense, this paper is shit. She just said the same two sentences in three slightly different ways in one paragraph. I just want to yell at her, "Read this at least ONCE before you send it to me."
In the middle of this, I have made turkey soup.
