Good to hear, Laura!
My sister does, so I've used it a few times. I don't like it as much as the Tivo: I find the interface a lot more confusing. But they haven't complained too much.
Do you know what speed they have? The rep didn't think I needed the top speed package, but I'm not sure.
Teavana salespeople are also insanely hardcore. You almost literally can't go in there to browse, because someone WILL sell you something. Or at the very least make you feel bad enough about not buying something that you leave.
That could just be my local Teavana too. They are CRAZY there!
Hey, does anyone here have AT&T U-verse for their TV and internet?
Kristen and I have it and we like it a lot. We have issues with our remote controls, but other than that, we like the service and schtuff.
Real tea people don't brew in Fahrenheit.
They'll bring the pot of coffee and try to pour it into his cup no matter how he tells them not to
I hate when I get the mix of coffee/cream/sugar just right, and then the server pours in more coffee. Why don't they just leave a pot, if they're going to give me free unlimited refills anyway?
There was a bit on Hawaii Five 0 about that. Probably the only time I liked Lori.
Drinking my coffee black helps a whole lot with the refill issue.
Yep! I only add sugar or cream when the coffee really tastes terrible. Last Tuesday, I actually used my coffeemaker at home for the first time in the 17 years I've owned it (my mom uses it when she comes to visit--I just haven't made any for myself). I picked up some Christmas coffee at Starbucks, ground the beans, and then put way too much into the filter. I had to boil some water in the kettle to dilute it.
Do you know what speed they have?
Nope. They're not tech-savvy, and they signed up a couple of years ago, so it's probably whatever the standard speed was in 2009 or so.
Me, I'm clinging to my Tivo, even though I now have to manually force a call once a week.
Now I need to go make another pot of coffee. Thanks!
I've been poaching chicken quite a bit lately so I can make enchiladas. Save the broth for later. Just saw it in the fridge and realized it would be just the thing to warm me up. Oh dang! It was like a bajillion times better than I anticipated. Why do I even bother making soup? Next time I'm just drinking the broth.
This is awesome. And weird. Also, awesome.
Paralympian Eyes Olympics
Dutch athlete Monique van der Vorst became paralyzed from the hip down during a surgical operation when she was 13 years old, and used a wheelchair afterward. She also suffered a spinal cord injury in 2008. Meanwhile, she became a cyclist, using her hands for propulsion, and won two silver medals at the 2008 Paralympics, as well as other athletic honors. Then van der Vorst was involved in another crash last year when she was hit by a bicycle. While recovering, she began to feel tingling in her feet! Months of therapy followed while van der Vorst regained the use of her legs.
Doctors have no explanation for her amazing recovery. Some believe the trauma of her last accident may have jolted her body back into activity.
But the realities of her new-found joy also put an immediate end to a successful athletic career.
“Although walking is the best thing you could do in life, I immediately missed the sport, the people and the challenges,” van der Vorst said.
Rehabilitation and physiotherapy with an athletic focus strengthened her and as soon as she sat on a bike she again wanted to give it a try.
But van der Vorst has a new goal. She has signed with a professional cycling team as an able-bodied athlete, and is training to compete in the 2016 Olympics.
That could just be my local Teavana too. They are CRAZY there!
Oh, god, no. They are the WORST upsellers I've ever encountered, bar none. I hate that I'm so addicted to their product and they're right around the corner, because there's no justification to order it online. But, shit, their pitch is relentless. I want to shoot them. Even when I just buy what I went in for, they try and muscle me into buying seven million pounds of it. But I'm glad I did buy the seven million pounds of it, because then I don't have to go in and get their schpiel for yonks.
