Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Mmm I just made polenta for dinner. I have been craaaaving it. First time the kids ate it (note this was not the first time they were served it), but they both said it's delicious!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

My neighbor's cat, who is my cat's good buddy, got very ill very suddenly. Apparently he has diabetes, and his numbers were 'off the charts' per the vet. They're not sure he'll make it through the night.

Could I request some ~ma for Bobby the cat, and also for my neighbor, who is distraught and blaming herself for not noticing things earlier.

And all I'm thinking of right now is that there's no way I can explain to my little guy that he might not ever see his friend again.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Health ~ma for Bobby the Cat. Poor thing.

Aw, Anne. If it is any consolation, MK went off the charts many times. And when the db first hit, it went from not there to OHSHIT in a month. So she shouldn't blame herself, it can be something that goes from nothing to hell, really fast. It's like it builds up and then the whole system holds it off until it can't. Wishing her the remainder of MK's miraculous recoveries. Yeah, he used a lot, but I figured he got a bonus to share for every one.

And should he make it, please feel free to share my email with her. 8 years ain't nothing.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Thank you both. Sarameg, I will definitely keep that in mind. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the vet can get him stabilized.

Health ~ma to Bobby.

Health ~ma to Allyson's boss, too. I am awaiting the post that all is well...

I am listening to a conference call with one ear. So bad. But it's stuff I know.

Punishingly Intricate

If it is any consolation, MK went off the charts many times.

Swifty too. And he had lost kind of a lot of weight before I took him to the vet when they first diagnosed it. I didn't realize how much until they told me. Here's hoping Bobby has a similar bounceback!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, Allyson, I hope she's okay.

My Troy and Abed In The Morning mug came! I am so excited.

My mother says I should have those T shirts made up. This is what happens when I can't actually think of a gift for my sister. She gets a key ring and re-usable produce bags and a gag T-shirt she needs to wear standing next to me.

She has asked me to buy my mother housedresses for Christmas. So I say "Huh?" and send her links to the most inoffensive housedress I can think of. She says "Eww!" and sends me a link to what I can best make out as a .... dress/tunic, and tells me to buy housedresses like that.

She wants me to buy my mother ethnic dresses with no defined waistline? I have no idea how to do that.

Caftan! [link] And specify ethnic print.

Oh, except that does seem to have a waist-ish thing going on. But still. Caftan!!
