Don't belong. Dangerous, like you. Can't be controlled. Can't be trusted. Everyone could just go on without me and not have to worry. People could be what they wanted to be. Could be with the people they wanted. Live simple. No secrets.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Maybe I'm just cynical, but I see $75k and think "handyman special"

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I see "nothing in this town worth paying a premium for.".

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I see $75K and think "closet".

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I see $75K and see hope.

:-)

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I see $75k and think "Fuck, I wish our house was worth that."

Now tagless for your comfort.

The Oatmeal nails the kid sleep dep thing.

Hahahahaha! It's funny because it's true!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I see $75K and think "Good start on a downpayment".

Librarian Warlord

I see 75K and think someone forgot a zero.

We went into an open house last Sunday in our neighborhood for a bungalow listed at 750K that was completely gutted and re-done inside. Things looked nice but there were some seriously stupid design decisions made (like upstairs where there is a master bath [no bathtub] without a door [one of 2 bathrooms without a door - must be a thing for them] and so anyone in the other bedroom upstairs either has to use the master bath or go down a flight of stairs. It was more important to have a master bath than to have a bathroom available to everyone up there, really?)

Because books.

See, there were lots of houses in the Central NY area in the $75,000 range. But there are no jobs, endless snow, and nothing to do if you don't like camping/lakes. So, not so much for me.

I want to own, despite the money pit Steph mentioned (which is always true), because I want to paint, and renovate, and make it MINE. Painting is usually okay wherever we've rented; ripping out walls, not so much.

Appropos of nothing, living in a college town means college guys jog by a lot. Often shirtless.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

The Oatmeal has me laughing so hard after following that link to another link:

"Penis looks like a sea cucumber poking out of a wizard's robe"

I have not gotten past that text because I am laughing and crying.

[link]

BTW, no picture of said penis occurs at link. Just laughter and tears.
