Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I doubt you're T. Rex because you haven't worked in a reference to Batman with your goat cheese.

Congrats, smonster!

God help me, I put my itouch away somewhere "safe" the other morning. Of course, I have NO IDEA where that was.

eta: Found it. Why one morning I thought the pocket of my lightweight coat hanging in the closet was a safe place is beyond me. Well, it was morning. My morning logic is a squirrelly thing.

You know I'm all "likes carrots" about my hood. My summertime neighbor (who leaves for Nashville next week, woe!) told me specifically that she was doing a post about the neighborhood and I should check it out. She's completely besotted with it. Because she's been home with a non-napping now-5 month old this summer, she's taken a lot of walks with him. She's met the old-timers, daytime gardners, fellow SAH parents and carers, all the dog walking people, and she's in love with them all. I'm proud of my neighborhood for giving her such a warm welcome, and pinching myself again that no, it's not just me. It really is an incredible little hood.

Because books.

That's so great -- there's really nothing worse than being in an unfamiliar place with a pre-talking, non-sleeping infant. And taking walks is one of the (free) easy things you can do every day to prevent losing your mind. Having friendly neighbors is such a bonus.

Yeah, this neighborhood is good for walking, especially with a baby. Tree lined, one way streets on a grid, pretty, pretty rowhouses with some really good gardeners. She told me she takes the camera with her as much as possible, because the hood is such a good subject. Venture out a mile or so, and there is a small lake (part of the water system) with a paved path around it, lanes for bikers and walkers, with fantastic view of the city and the neighborhoods around it: [link] eta: go look at streetview on the path around it. Lovely.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

sarameg, that's awesome.

Because books.

I keep meaning to take a walk with the camera here, too -- there's so much gorgeous GORGEOUS Victorian architecture intact.

K-Bug and I went to dinner, then ran some errands. Even got out of the $100 store for just $35. But then I realized I didn't have my iPhone. Last time I remembered touching it was at the restaurant. K-Bug called the phone a few times on our way over there to no answer. They said they couldn't find it and I talked to everyone from our waiter to the busboy to the owner and no luck. Went back to the car and had K-Bug call it again as I pulled the car apart. A moment later the hostess came out saying they had found it. Whewwwwww.

Enough drama for me. Time for a glass of wine.

Oh, oh, oh - at the $100 store, I saw someone wearing a shirt that seemed like a person or two here would like. "Forget being a princess, I want to be a vampire".
