flea, we're not really sure where it comes from. My grandfather was Dornis, also, and one of dad's cousins and a step-cousin were also saddled with Dornis. My great-grandparents were French and Pennsylvania Dutch! So, where the Dornis comes in to play we're not sure--French or German? I've seen it used as a last name, too, so I've never been able to pinpoint it's origin.

Okay, "Tresabel Dornis" is totally a character name.
You don't have to use google+ with an email account that has all your contacts--I'm not.
Use it!
Actually, the insulin allowed him to regain weight. Not sure if it is a cat thing or what. Basically, if his sugar is unregulated (high) he shed weight rapidly. If kept in balance, he would reach a steady weight and plateau. Keep in mind, when I got him, he was 18 lbs. When the diabetes was diagnosed, he was down to 15. With each crisis, and age, he's dropped a bit more. My kitchen scale now has him at 7 lbs 6 oz. The easter crisis, he weighed in at 8.8 on admit, but dropped by the time he left. Another crisis and he almost lost 2 lbs. He doesn't have much more to give.

Wow. He's a fighter, though, huh?
More of a lover, with bonus extra lives. Seriously, this cat is between 18 and 20, diabetes for 8 years ( which is unusual in felinity) and just keeps hanging on.
WOW. Puck was fourteen (and a half?) and I thought that was remarkable.
He's rather unusual in his longevity, chronic condition not even counting. With it, yeah, miracle cat.
My Aunt Cindie's legally Vernelle or something like that. I dunno. No one actually uses that name, not any of her siblings (I mean, I only ever met Moss and Olga, but still, I'm pretty sure none uses the name on her passport for squat) or her niece and nephews or her non-blood relatives like me.
My sister, meanwhile, is legally Cindy, but hasn't gone by that since she was two or three.
MK sounds like an awesome kitty.
It makes me wonder if I should change it legally (not for google+ purposes, but just for ease)
I've been meaning to change my name legally to the name I've been using for 25 years, but I don't really know how to go about it and I have been lazy. I'd just be switching my first and middle names; it doesn't seem like it should be a big deal.
I'm imagining what Google would have made of my grandfather. His legal name, the one on his birth certificate, was E. P. Haley. His real name, that the attending doctor couldn't spell and so abbreviated, was Epaphroditas. And everyone called him Pete.
Am I the only member of humanity who doesn't think Jeri Ryan is attractive? She's apparently a wonderful person, but in my humble opinion has not a single attractive feature (okay, her legs). Whenever I hear folks talking about how gorgeous and sexy she is, I experience unreconcilable cognitive dissonance.
