I don’t even know what else to say except that I’ve become a little obsessed with Gaudi.
Yeah, Barcelona will do that to you. Definitely go inside La Sagrada Familia next time; walking inside was quite literally breathtaking. I also loved Casa Batlló. I dug the roof of La Pedrera, but the interior was a lot of information I'd just seen at Casa Batlló. Parc Guell was a pain to get to, and I didn't think it was that amazing, but there are some cool things there. Like the gingerbread house and the ceiling made of smashed plates.
I loved the Gothic Quarter as well. I loved how it was all narrow alleyways. I had just read
The Shadow of the Wind,
and I took a walking tour in the back of the book that led me to various locations in the book; it was way cool.
I found Parc Guell easy to get to on the bus and it was one of the best things I've ever seen. So.
Pix, I'm loving your account of your trip! I'm glad you're having such a wonderful time!

Yeah, I think I've mentioned before that a friend and I bought food at a farmer's market nearby (bread, cheese, lychees) and had a picnic lunch there, and that was one of my favorite experiences there.
Sophia, it was good of you to be there for your neighbor, even beyond your comfort zone. I'm sure your neighbor appreciated your kindness.
So, when was the next Onerous Task Day? Can I claim today as mine?
Go Jilli go!! I think I'm going to claim it as mine, too. I called United about my COBRA issue (still not resolved), did more budgety stuff (so not fun, so freaking the fuck out), sent my resume out to three contacts, applied for a carpentry job from CL, did All The Dishes, activated my new debit card and read up on my new credit union, took Frankie on two good walks, found receipts so I can return things to Walmart and Petco, and finished using Restor-a-Finish on a bookshelf. I also did *not* buy cigarettes or go out for dinner, though sorely tempted. I am posting all that because I'm feeling very cranky about being broke and unemployed, and need to remind myself that I *am* being productive, if not gainfully employed.
If I weren't carefully having to budget due to cat emergencies, and you know, you weren't in your favorite city, I'd have you see if you could do some work on my porch. Hmph.
I am attempting somewhat experimental lavender biscuits. Wish me luck.
What's hilarious is, I was just thinking, "How does someone move someplace without a job?" when I remembered I've done it every single time I've relocated! Hee. It does work out.
The little chocolate Han Solos put it over the top.
Oh my god, I wish that were real.
