I bought road trip food. I am ready to go to Kentucky! Well, tomorrow is Ohio, then the next day is Kentucky. And I haven't packed my suitcase yet. But I have food! (I'm not always certain about what vegan options will be on the road, so I generally stock up on Larabars and things like that. This time, I noticed that the grocery store had these things called GoPicnic, which is a whole shelf-stable meal in a box. There are a few different kinds, and one is vegan -- it has crackers, hummus, nuts and dried fruit, and a piece of chocolate.)

Can you do that????
Phil legally changed his name to Ultraman. Then legally changed it back after he had a California Driver's license that declared him to be Ultraman.
I was feeling very discouraged about breakfast because our cupboard is bare, but decided that Jacques Pepin would not punk out while there were still eggs in the fridge. And I remembered that JZ had a lot of fresh dill left over from making Tzatziki, so I made a proper French Omelet with fresh dill. (The kind where you work it in the pan the whole time until it's creamy inside and serve it in a sort of cigar shape.)
Really good.
I got a compliment today on a necklace Kat bought me. Most of the time when I wear this I get complimented. Good choice, Kat, and thank you!
Scientifically speaking, I have found dragonflies get more compliments.

Oh, man. I should have changed my name when I became a citizen.
I did, obviously, ask if they could force lower case. They could not.
proper French Omelet
Mmm- I would love to find a place that does these for breakfast or brunch, instead of the giant overstuffed monstrosities. (each to their own, but I don't tend to enjoy them.)
What Would Jacques Do? is an excellent life philosophy.
It would be really cool to only have one name and have it be your surname.
One of the teachers at my kids' school goes legally by only her surname. She's hella cool.
I am so ready for summer to be over. My kids are driving me nuts.
I just blanch at all those web forms that can't be submitted without first and last names filled in. It would really chafe me to have to fake it.
Maybe I'll legally change my first name to Zen. I like it.
But then I'd sound like I'm 20 and my parents are New Age hippies, wouldn't I? I can't pass for either New Age or 20.
Isn't Episic the flavor that allows women to be ordained? And I recall that they were the only church to have an official presence at the recent pride parade in NYC after the gay marriage passed.
They don't just show up at Pride, they also ordain teh gays. There is a significant queer population at the NY Episcopalian Seminary, from amyth's tales when G was there.
I *love* pony play. LOVE.
Did I ever send you a link or have you seen Unmata's ode to pony play?
I love the last name "de la O." ita, I think it suits you.
For some reason yesterday I was trying to think of fandom where the car is important.
Ghostbusters!
Nora, how are you and Tom feeling?
I'm actually still surprised when I meet an Episcopalian priest who isn't a lesbian.
