One of the things I love about my Methodist church is that they are so inclusive. I don't think every Methodist church is like that, but this one seems to welcome everyone. It's funny because I was trying to describe it to my mom and the words that came out were "It's so...Christ-like." Which made us laugh because, shit, shouldn't all churches be like that?

What was that old line? ”Wherever there's four Episcopalians there's a fifth."

Sadly, no. When I was in highschool, in Greensboro, NC, our Methodist church had a festival that included a whack-a-mole table. Only instead of moles you were supposed to "beat a Baptist," "crack a Catholic," etc. It was fairly vile. And the ministers just looked confused when I got upset about it.

Yes. Yes, all Christian churches should.
I have a weird question-- Cosplay isn't about sex, right? Everytime I read it, I think it is a fetish, and have to remember that it is not. Or is it? Or am I thinking of pony play?
I think cosplay is just dressing up. Whether you have sex while dressed up or not is optional.
The picture of Obama on the front page of the Times makes him look so tired. I don't agree with what he's doing, but I still feel sorry for him.
Or am I thinking of pony play?
That's the fetish. I mean, there may be people who cosplay My Little Pony or whatever, but I think that, by and large, pony play means fetish.
Pony pony pony. (I know it's TMI for a Monday morning [or, possibly, ever], but I *love* pony play. LOVE.)
Ok- thank you! I knew I was getting confused.
Peoples, I spotted a bacon bloody mary at brunch yesterday. Lisah & Sarameg, this was at One Eyed Mikes. Apparently, it was delicious.
I need to make sure that I have good walking shoes/sandals for DC. I don't want to eff up my feet in the first day and then ruin the vacay. I'm waffling between Keen sandals, Keen Coronado tennis shoes, and Teva sandals. A lot of my consideration is $$ and I'm finding some good deals on eBay and another website or two and the Walking Store in my local mall has the Keen Whispers on sale, too. Anyone have any input they'd care to impart?
Just that I can never believe how expensive everything at the Walking Store is! But you should try to try on the exact shoe you want to buy before getting it cheaper online.
