Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think that first one is too big. However, I should probably give up on the idea of finding another bag with protective pockets and get cases for the phone and the ipad.

I don't remember, actually. TBH I don't pay much attention to plot points in Castle: it's a fluffy show for me, and I don't think about it much.
