All the names I recognise for Geordi are black. But the other roles seem reasonably diverse. Are all those guys black?

Which came first- the popularity of the banana clip or Geordi's visor. Because it seems like a weird choice. Almost everything else on ST:TNG looks so much better than TOS, and then, hey, they slap some silver spraypaint on a banana clip and call it a visor.

Banana clips -- they were EVERYfrickwhere when I was in high school, and TNG started my first year of college.
