Angel: Connor, this is Spike and Illyria. Guys, this is Connor. Connor: Hi. umm...I like your outfit. Illyria: Your body warms. This one is lusting after me. Connor: Oh...no, I--I--it's just that it's the outfit. I guess I've had a thing for older women. Angel: They were supposed to fix that.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Sail is in Bitches more often, tommy. Maybe email her?

'K. Thanks.

The Love Song of Admiral Piett.

Let us go then, you and I,

When the star destroyers are spread out across the sky

Like a smuggler frozen, cased in carbonite.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ginger, what's the general feeling about this case? Is there enough public outrage that it's likely to be dismissed? Or that the woman will get a suspended sentence? Would a public petition, or anything like that help, you think?

I'm going to be stewing about this until she has a better resolution.

In other news, our projected high today is 69F. With a low of 49F, but the furnace hasn't kicked in in the early mornings for a couple of weeks, now. I've never been so glad I moved. Aside from the view to the bay on our trip to the grocery store, or the Canadian Rockies as we head down the hill to town, I don't miss NC heat, not a tiny little bit.

I should be mocking myself for not moving years--nay, decades!--ago. Seriously, y'all. It's amazingly cool and comfy. Come visit!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Bev, that story, and thinking about what that mother and her surviving children must be going through, makes me sick with rage.

For me it's not "OMG I should've moved sooner" but more "OMG, I don't think I can ever move back now that I'm used to it". :)

And, because it needed to not be in the same post as the above, notable Matilda quotes from last night's game of Apples to Apples.

Emmett: Justify your card. Why is a sleepover simple?
Matilda: Because I JUST WANT TO!

Okay, calm down, Mister Doodly-Doo!

Because I have a tummy. Now you just be quiet, okay? FAIRIES!

A real mustache for a real girl!

It's like she has Dadaist Tourette's.

Lord I love Matilda's mind. And you guys for sharing. You could bogart it all for yourselves, but no, you allow the rest of us to bask in the reflected wonder that is Matilda.

I'm going to be explicating "FAIRIES!" at opportune moments for some time to come.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Ginger, what's the general feeling about this case? Is there enough public outrage that it's likely to be dismissed?

There is considerable outrage, but it's in Cobb Country, which in general doesn't believe in pedestrians or black people. My guess is a suspended sentence, but you never know. I suspect a pedestrian or transportation advocacy group will appeal.
