oo Scrappy, I feel all fangurly just knowing that they're there.
I am having a random memory of Franny at age 5 or 6 filling out some school worksheet, and writing on one line "baby hejhog."
Kat, I think you really need to have that bathing suit. It's adorbs.
That is very cool, Scrappy.
Just had my 3rd shower of the day. My cat sat next to the tub co
mplaining loudly the entire time.
Oh, I love that linguistics article and test! Though I wasn't completely guessing, since they used some Romanian. Fascinating.
Everybody's gone now. Nice peeps.
That bathing suit is awesome! You should totally get it, Kat!
And very cool evening, Scrappy!
I went and worked out (every day but two for the last week and a half!) after band-aiding my blister...but now I have three MORE blisters. Ow. Ow. Ow. Also kinda puts the kibosh on my plan for a pedicure tomorrow.
I did give myself a new manicure and it's pretty (OPI Manicurist of Seville), but I'm worried I'll have the same messed-up-with-sheet-marks if I go to bed now. Post, people!
New Scientist posits that sounds have meanings divorced from language and across cultures. Test yourself!
I'm pretty sure the fact that the questions are only in English makes this quiz bullshit. (I know I know, online quizzes are not science, but you can't say "divorced from language and culture" and then proceed to demonstrate this using ONE language!)
IOscienceN, did we know that parasitic worms may be able to cure MS? On the one hand, ewwwwwww:
Every two weeks over the course of three months, the patients in the study drank 2,500 of the eggs mixed into a sports drink. The eggs hatched in the patient's intestines and were killed by the immune system after about a week.
But on the other hand, yay!
"What makes us optimistic is that brain lesions in four out of the five patients decreased over the course of the study and then rebounded—or rose—again after it finished," says Dr. Fleming.
A teammate of mine named her van "Vangina" because she carries all of her kids in it.
Scrappy, that is amazingly cool.
We were sans power for about 16 hours last night and most of yesterday. Highs hit 98 degrees F. Seriously uncool. Had to ditch some stuff in the fridge as it got too warm. The freezer was mostly empty so I didn't lose anything there.
