Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

It was close to a hundred here today. But we've been in the hospital for the better part of today and Grace's room is freezing. Like 62ish. I had to buy a hoodie to wear in the room.

In other news, AM TIRED NOW. After shift change, I'm going to bed.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Speaking of, Darby actually barked at me yesterday! I was shocked. In the year and change I've had her I've heard her bark literally a half a dozen times.

Go, Darb!

It took Kittenish a long to make even a peep of noise. The first time she mrrrw'd, my ex and I were shocked. To the point we were trying to figure out what the noise was because my cat was a silent thing.

Sums her up. ME!

You named her after a goddess, can't be shocked she's a little self-centered.

Yeah, and then I named a cat Loki. Which is apt, but...I swore not to do it again. But Lokes was a loki before I named him.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Spare Cat is really amusing when she's hungry and has decided that she has to make me feed her. She doesn't just jump up on the desk, she sits on the mouse pad and tries to nip at my hand. Hard.

It's probably counter-productive, because I find it funny and hold off on feeding her until I've laughed enough.

I do recall this conversation. With fond, fond amusement.

Kittenish was doing the thing today with her tongue sticking out that got her the RL name she has. I was charmed. And took a picture. She was *affronted* and then demanded noms.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

God, I love that Cold Case with the gay cops. It touches me in my shippy place.
