Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

Went over and cranked the ac for my friend who has been out of town all week (I've been catsitting) and won't get back until late. Figured since her flight has been delayed over 4 hours now, she might appreciate a cool-er house. One of the units mystified me though, so it just might be circulating air.

so I JUST finished the online application and %$%$%^ Excel test that this interview required. I got 100% on the Excel test, but it took forever to do because I had to download some java crap, then start my machine over twice. grrr, I just want my current job to magically come with benefits and not have to do this anymore.

I found out that I now qualify for reduced school lunches for mac, I am kinda shocked and depressed, but I will fill out the forms and take it since my income really is well below their level.

Because books.

My credit is so far in the dumps, I doubt I'd be able to get a secured credit card.

msbelle, WIC and CHIP got my brother's family through his undergrad (and meant the boys had good medical coverage.) Don't let it get to you, if you can.

DOGS!!

so here are the dogs: [link] #6,8 & 11 were all in one pen and all nice. There was also a Husky there that wasn't barking at all, but it was not yet available for adoption. And there was a Shih Tzu that is not up on their page that was very sweet.

So medium small terriers appeal? Did they have any info on how they are with cats and kids?

They do not know on these ones about cats, but they have 3-4 "office cats" that they test the dogs with, then we would have to do a visit with the dogs on leash with mac. HEE!!!

Basically a big dog does not appeal because it will overrun our lives. Mac particularly loves Huskies, so I would consider that one. I love Boxers, but I fear their strength and size while we have the grumpy old man cats.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Yeah, boxers can be pretty boisterous.

I am impressed at a non-barking Husky, because normally when those Northern breeds make noise, they're LOUD.

I am leaning toward the Boston mix because of temperament traits and it being a bit bigger that the other two terriers.
