Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You watch TV, right, ita? You'll know her when you hear her, I'm sure. Either that, or all of a sudden you'll hear her everywhere.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I just started listening to Adele. So far "Set Fire to the Rain" is my favorite. I'm finding myself bitter about betrayals that never happened.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wow. Freaky.

Maybe. Then again, probably not. I'm quite gifted that way.

Shakeups and intrigue at work. I'm really quite jealous of all the Indian coworkers who speak a different language which means they can pretty much gossip all they want without having to go elsewhere. So unfair, polyglottishness.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I absolutely love her second album. Her voice is incredible.

I love "Hometown Glory" from her first album (thank you SYTYCD). My favorite from 21 is still "Turning Tables."

Because books.

Her first album was great, too! The cover of "Make You Feel My Love" is beautiful.

I just love her voice. And her look. And her everything, pretty much.

hip deep in pie

Now I'm watching her in fairly stripped down live performances on You Tube. She makes it look easy.

Heh. I'm sure she'd love that review, actually.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Scary quote gleaned from Ta-Nehisi Coates, in an interview with an FBI agent:

So what crimes are the mob likely to be involved in now that they wouldn't have been involved in twenty years ago?

We've had numerous cases that illustrate their involvement in the stock market. They're infiltrating the financial sector a lot more than they did twenty or thirty years ago. The days of "give me a thousand dollars or I'm gonna break your legs" explicitly stated to someone and captured on tape, I think, are over. The forms of extorting individuals are now concealed in inflated invoices, they're concealed in control of high-level executives at companies.
