We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I really wish that the recurring problem at work with accessing shared drives(which is where all my work is stored) would stop recurring.

I really wish that more than 2 of my coworkers would actually use the shared drives.

I'm putting off sending an email to My Nemesis, repeating a request I sent two weeks ago, for status on thirteen projects she's supposed to be doing. I think I will send the email at 4:29, and then leave. So I won't even have to think about her until Monday morning.

At some point the new boss is going to notice what's going on, right? Right?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Rumor has it we have internet back at work. I am not there at the moment, however.

Also, hallelujah, the tile guys have left my house. Except for the part where they have to come back tomorrow. But the shower is done. Of course, they sealed part of the tile that they weren't supposed to, which changes the appearance, but we're letting it go, because there's nothing we can do about it.

Ooh, one would hope a new boss would notice--will he have any power over her, Suela?

One of the things I have to do for my trips is put the visits in a database, saying first they're planned, and then when they're done. I only have access to certain projects, and was helping out this other group on a project, and didn't have access. But it has to be done, and it's part of my performance review (the number of trips) and reviewed every month. So before the trip,I ask the guy in charge to put it in. Then after the trip. Then again, when my boss says "it's the end of the month, why aren't these in". Then again, when she asks again. FOUR TIMES I've asked him, and FOUR TIMES he said he'd do that. And today my boss again was like "This isn't in here and it has to be by COB or it won't go on the record" and I wanted to make him and Suela's Work Nemesis cage fight. GRRRRR.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

The problem we've been having with our shared drive is that people keep moving or deleting files without checking. So when we need something - quickly - it involves doing a search of the entire drive. Which may or may not turn up the files and always takes a looooong time to process.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Hello. My name is Suzi, and I am a drug seeking fool. Last Friday my doc prescribed diazapam and said to call if that didn't cut the pain. Saturday, I called cause I was still in pain and got a prescription for Tramadal. Ran out of the diazapam on Monday. When I saw my PT for the first time and went through this with her, she asked why I wasn't on Percoset since the other drugs weren't cutting the pain. So, I call the doc again on Tuesday to ask for a refill of the diazapam and for Percoset. Since Percoset is a controlled substance, I had to pick up the written prescription to take to the pharmacy. Ok, fine. I get to the pharmacy, get my Percoset, but they had nothing on the diazapam. Grrr. Now we are on Wednesday, I call my doctor's office again and am assured they will take care of it. I'm so drugged out on the other stuff K-Bug went to the pharmacy Wed evening to pick it up. No luck - they needed to confirm something with my doctor's office so it wouldn't be ready until today. So, of course it is ready today, right? Of course not. And the pharmacy doesn't inform me until my doctor's office is closed. RAGE!!!!!

Poor Seabiscuit! My brother's dog is pretty much allergic to Alabama. She was allergic to Texas as well, but not as bad. And steroids make her ragey dog, which is no good (though she's mellowed some with age.) Now that the clippernoise no longer makes her batshit insane, they can shave her in the summers (she's got a lot of chow in her and the coat to prove it.) They never could get her professionally groomed because she'd get crazy aggressive. And sedatives? Have the opposite effect on her and she pretty much cannot be examined outside the house without being doped up. She's kind of a problematic dog. And yet each of the boys have only been nipped by her once each, and both cases, they rather earned it. She is really, really good with the family. Just nsm vets and groomers and delivery men and...yeah.

ION, my kitten is really damned lazy, and now I have proof: [link]

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Suzi, diazepam isn't even a pain-killer; it's an anti-anxiety drug. Which could definitely help with your pain, because constant pain makes people VERY UNRELAXED, and the diazepam would help you relax.

But for sheer pain relief, it sounds like you need a pain-killer like percocet as well as an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen/ketoprofen/naproxen, or possibly a steroid.

I'm a little bemused as to the inclusion of diazepam.

Relatedly, we have a full bottle of tramadol from the dalmatian, and I have indeed taken 1 from time to time when I've had a bad migraine. Because it's a strong painkiller and she's not around to need it, and it's the exact same drug/dosage that's given to humans.

Even MORE relatedly, I still have a migraine. It's been over 48 hours, and it's not easing up. I would bet folding money it's a side effect from the Z-Pak I'm taking for my sinuses, but it's still a right bastard. First one I've had in the 2 months since acupuncture.

I am taking ibuprofen. I have lorazapam - that would be comparable to the diazapam, right? Why didn't I connect that before?

I'm trying to just take the percoset at night. Just so tired of this all. I will see what a week more of physical therapy (why hasn't my daughter got her license yet) will do, then I'm shopping for an orthopedic surgeon.

I'll be lucky to get in 20 hours of work this week and probably about the same until we make some progress. And I have no vacation time left.

Only good note is that we are going to HP7 II tonight. Wheeee.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Wow Suzi, that sounds frustrating. Also, I think it is weird that they prescribed diazapam for pain, but I am not a doctor.

I am SO TIRED. This vacationing is exhausting. Yesterday I was cleaning my Hoarders level livng room. I ended p moving furniture around until midnight. Then today I spent the day with my BFF-- the plan was this craft/antique co-op, and thrift stores, We JUST got home. We picked up her son from camp and KEPT GOING. I am ready to drop. The upside is I got a perfect sewing machine table for $14.99. So tomorrow I need to move around my book room to be a book and sewing room. TOmorrow I was going to go to a yarn store, but I am not sure I am up to it as I am seriously ready for bed, as I have just spent TWELVE HOURS shopping.
