No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

so many of us need to vote on this shirt and then buy it for Hec when it gets printed:

I'm sure there's a much more deserving charity than my wardrobe. Really it's the thought that counts.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh, that is a wonderful shirt!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Rub the inside of a small, kitten-sized box with 'nip and gently place her in it.

It's likely she'll sniff and skedaddle...but she'll be back.

I ignored Gimlet as much as possible for the first several days, other than making sure I took her out a few times a day, rubbed my hands gently all over her face, gently held her despite her struggles and petted her for a few moments and let her go. I, er, also purred at her and did other embarrassing things that mimicked mama cat behavior.

Pulling the scruff of the neck skin gently, and holding it for a few seconds, which mimicks what a mama cat does when she carries a kitten, is supposed to release relaxing endorphins into cat brains. Gently, as a part of petting, and briefly.

Gimlet was a terribly scared and skittish kitten -- still is. Most nervous cat I've ever seen, and that's pretty impressive. But she'll sit on my head and groom me, if I let her.

Cosmo? Giant slut. Not a shy, hidey bone in her fuzzy little body. She's Nermal, embodied.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My cat meowed at me around noon today until I gave in and took him outside for a walk. Five minutes later he led me back to the front porch and sprawled out on the concrete. Apparently his life's dream was to snooze in 94F weather. While wearing fur. Idjit.

Art Crawl!!!

Cats!

Mine has taken up napping in the bathtub. She does not share Calli's cat's interest in heat.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

We were able to get her out of hiding for a bit. Lots of petting and scritching. Gentle scruffing. She hung out on the bed with us for a bit without either of us holding her and then she slunk back under a bedside table. She did use her litter box during the night, so at least she is coming out of hiding on her own for that. So, lots of patience ahead.

Miss Kitty seems to be getting the idea that there is something of interest in K-Bug's room. But again, she doesn't seem to worried about whatever it is.

Heh, the bathroom is the coldest place in the house, and the cats have fully taken it over.

ION, I adore having my former students, who are primarily Hispanic, on my FB feed. HOWEVER, it's sometimes pure torture on holidays, as they post pix and descriptions of ZOMG utterly delicious food and drink at family celebrations.

OTOH, the second I post anything along the line of "Delicious!" or "SO JEALOUS!" I am flooded with genuine invitations to come over and join the festivities. I have gone to a couple (weddings, quinces) and, while a party filled with Mexicanidad may be annoying to neighbors (music! dancing! talking! tons of people! up all night!), they are hands-down the most fun parties I have ever been to.

I love my ex-students so.

Went out to goodwill to get some drinking glasses (can't go wrong at 50 cents each, and found some nice ones) and ended up at DSW and bought a couple pairs of shoes. Oops. I blame my friend who stopped by for a bit and confessed she has too many shoes and just bought more there.

Did not remember to stop to get de-linters though. Ah well. Now I'm just going to sit and read, I think.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I believe I shall celebrate my independence by taking a nap.
