There's more than one way to skin a cat. And I happen to know that's factually true.

Art Crawl!!!

Wow. Amych - that is totally scary.

I slept fitfully - woke up at 4 am with a cat eager for me to actually get up right by my side. Did not do that. Got up 7:30ish, fed said cat, made breakfast - settled in to watch the tennis. Post men's final? Feeling rather off - I went for a lie down and just got up.

Before I napped I unexpectedly found my cat lounging in the bathtub. It's not even that hot today!

Because books.

Oh, she did look pretty!

That tree falling really is scary -- something similar happened to my brother and my nephew when they were camping a few years ago, and it caught my nephew's foot. He wound up having three or four surgeries, and he's always going to have a limp now.

As amych said on FB, trees should definitely stay vertical, or at least WARN when they're coming down.

I find that wedding depressing, Kat--doesn't seem much like a love match, what with the age difference and the crazy rumors of new undiscovered children, etc etc

Also, anyone who loves looking at royal outfits and/or dreaming of being a princess might enjoy this blog, which is all about royal fashion (currently all about the Monaco wedding, and guests, but often just what the royals are wearing on any given week)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

goodness, she was all but on a plane back to South Africa. I feel badly for her. Was Princess Grace's life particularly happy after she married the Prince? I didn't think it was.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

It's an extremely depressing marriage for sure. Sort of like what would have happened had Princess Diana had married Charles at 30 instead of 20.

Also, it's super depressing to see how skittish and unsure of herself she has seemed in interviews. She's an Olympic swimmer, for god's sake. Howabout a little self-confidence?

But I do think her dress is beautiful and the diamond sprays in her hair are lovely. AND I adore the bridesmaids in their white and red taffeta.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

amych, yikes! Glad you and yours are all right! That could have been really bad.

I've only been awake for 6 hours and I want to go back to sleep. Partly because of the thunderstorm, maybe, probably mostly because of the ridiculous amount of bread I've eaten the past couple days. Whence my seeming inability to stop consuming foods that are bad for me?

Also, marrying a Prince shouldn't be a depressing thing! I hope she loves him a little, anyway. What's the deal with them "catching" her at the Nice airport? I imagine them dragging her off screeching in handcuffs. I mean, if she was running away from him... IDK, isn't this kinda scary?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I bet she loves him and is sad because he's been cheating (how old is the latest kid?) and will in all likelyhood continue to do so (regardless of what he said to get her ass off that plane).
