It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Erin, I would also recommend Through the Gates of Splendor and especially Beyond the Gates of Splendor (see both). It's more about a mission to a largely uncontacted tribe in Ecuador, and it is from the POV of the missionaries...I'm not entirely sure how neutral it is toward westernizing tribal peoples (and I'm leaving out some crucial plot details to avoid spoiling). But there is a fantastic sequence where one of the tribesmen visits the US.

Jilli, is Clovis franchising? I ask because I saw a flier on a utility box for the Mysterious Rabbit Puppet Army. The rabbit looked more piratical than vampiric.

Of course, I immediately thought of you.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

To be filed under unprofessional: So my friend manages this huge, well known student summer program, one site which is in LA, where she's at now. Anyway, she spends most of her summers running from site to site, managing the start of sessions, getting staff trained, etc. The morning of the start of this session, she glances at her email before hopping in the shower. At 3:45 in the MORNING, their office manager quit. The day when all the craziness starts and they absofuckinglutely need someone uh, managing the office ? while they are wrangling kids and new staff. I mean, REALLY?? WHO DOES THIS?!

And this was after they'd already had to scramble to reschedule sessions and staff because the 405 closure would make it nigh impossible to get the kids and staff to the site. And one of her other key staff members sliced his foot open within an hour of getting to work. It's not been a smooth summer for her.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

What the hell?!? That sounds like the most passive-aggressive move possible.

I know, right?

I told her (she called to ask me to look after her cat an extra few days) that I SO WANT her to get a references call, so she can laugh hysterically in response. Likely will not happen, but given the apparent sense of judgement of this individual, I have my hopes. "It just isn't a good fit." Yeah, well, with that kind of move, pretty sure nothing ever will be a good fit for her. She had almost 6 weeks to figure that out and maybe give them a clue? Which she didn't.

Also, fb hates me. Won't let me post or anything. Database issues.

Which are plaguing me today.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So Angelina Jolie is supposed to be makeup free in this picture and a number of outlets have picked that obvious lie up and run with it. What? She's clearly made up. It shouldn't take Jezebel two weeks to mention it.

I want to eat All the Things.

I probably shouldn't though, should I?
