Thanks for the birthday wishes!
meara, I saw several very cute persons wandering around with "Gay and Single" magic-markered on various parts of their bodies.
Some of my favorite pictures from yesterday:
Santa is a straight ally! (He rode on our cable car and was incredibly sweet to all the toddlers who spotted him and were completely agog that Santa would take time out from his summer vacation to drop by Pride Weekend.)
Awesomest member of the Genentech contingent
Spiritual brothers. They had a long, long, happy conversation over the 2+ hours between the official start of the parade and the time our section actually started moving, and every now and then they'd just stop and survey the milling crowd with utter mellow contentment. I just liked them a lot.
The human rainbow (apparently they did some excellent dancing, too, but our groups were separated by the time that happened and we didn't get to see it).
Lots of people watched from the upper stories and got all excited whenever anyone in the parade actually looked up and started waving. A few windows past this guy there was an entire family, 3 generations, crowded together at a single window, and when we pointed and waved at them they went bananas. Sadly, either I am a picture-taking dolt or our camera is just not capable of anything fancier than "Here's a fairly simple thing at reasonably close range."
