Natter 68: Bork Bork Bork
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I caught up !
I hope your niece wakes up soon scrappy
I am so excited about you house, javachick. You know we actually like house projects - right Now our schedule's can be difficult , but you will need extra hands
I keep watching for Sass sightings.
the only news about me is I have a blister. All the training I have been doing for this walk - and this is my first one. Between toes. which seems stupid to me
Some days fandom just cracks me up: [link] So nerdy! (Polgara, click the link!)
I may have been reading too many Quiverfull and patriarchal websites.
Makes me so mad I can't think.
java, "house pubes" made me cackle! Mine has so many damn bushy bushes. I can't even get to the faucet without battling a huge azalea and all the crap that accumulates under and in overgrown bushes. It's been such a wet spring everything is out of control. I'm a lazy gardener. I do like the privacy they give me, though. They hide my windows.
You guys, I'm about to turn off the tv and put away the laptop and READ A BOOK.
As a fed, I say go with the dress. I was just going to break the paragraph to talk about moving, but it appears my cat has yet again managed to do something to my computer by stepping on it that (a) I did not know you could do and (b) I do not know how to change. Now my enter key affects the volume?!
OK, I fixed it. Anyway, moving is terrible. Don't do it.
Matilda dressed and ready for Pride.
She and JZ actually rode in the parade on a faux Cable Car.
Showing off her chops.
Mmm, I do like a good Pisco sour.
Matilda looks smashing.
I was very homey today and made bread and roast chicken for a proper Sunday supper. More work than I'm usually up for, but sooo tasty.
Sigh. I was feeling all annoyed and grumpy because, as a friend put it, "Pride is like Queer Valentine's Day, and all you see is cute people walking around hand in hand reminding you you're still single". Yeah. So I looked on OKCupid and there is nothing new there...and I thought "maybe I should try match, even though I think it's less popular!" so I went and it made me sign up and everything...and indeed, fewer than OKCupid and many the same as there...and the two people I clicked on thinking "Hmm, could be cute from the teeny picture..." were my one friend's two exes. Yeahhhhh.
We cut the arbor vitae down in front of the front porch, but we can't pull the stumps till we have the cable and gas guys okay the lines. There are still large bushes in the front of the house that I'm not fond of, but our foundation is really high, and I've not been able to come up with a planting scheme that's in scale. Also, the little birdies have established residence, so we can't turf them out before they finish raising their families and migrate for the winter.
I was on a cruise last night with a bunch of librarians who specialize in European languages and a bunch of representatives of foreign presses (so, nice people, but not exactly young or hip) and the outgoing chair of the group ended his speech by noting it was his 8th anniversary with his supportive husband, whom he married at ALA in Toronto, and he got a huge round of applause. So nice. (Although, who gets married at a library conference? That is dorkier than I could have even thought up on my own.)
