They teased me about coming in to the ER a night early, and they called a cab for me instead of letting me do it myself. I OFFICIALLY do this too often.

I guess that beats them being suspicious of you.
Some days I get the good people. This morning I got the good people. I am *so* touched by them, it's not even funny. Today's second nurse was really pissed because it was the first time she hadn't gotten a line on me the first shot, and she broke her perfect record. But we're keeping that a secret. The doctors were patient and didn't treat me suspiciously. The last nurse--I have no idea why she decided to call me a cab, but she said she did it so I could wait for it in the hospital bed instead of in the waiting room. And she brought me juice and cookies.
You can really tell why some people get into caregiver careers--they're on empathy overdrive. But others? I don't get bitchy nurses. I really don't. Why go into that line of work if you don't dig helping people? At least bitchy doctors makes a little more sense, even though I don't have to like it.
I'm so glad you got the good people, ita. If I can't do anything to make the pain better, I'd make sure you always get the good people.
Holy crap, Mets score. Sweet.
After the market, got a pedicure an hit Target. Swam, did laundry and shampooed the carpet.
Thinking of making the TJs run after MK's shot, to free up the morning to clean some of the crap out of my yard and sidewalk.
TRYING to schedule a time to get together with Taylor, but really having a terrible time of it. She likes to hang out with her fam on sundays, and really, those are the best day for me to make time.

Republican New York Senator Comes Out For Gay Marriage
"You get to the point where you evolve in your life where everything isn’t black and white, good and bad, and you try to do the right thing," McDonald, 64, told reporters. "You might not like that. You might be very cynical about that. Well, fuck it, I don’t care what you think. I’m trying to do the right thing. "I’m tired of Republican-Democrat politics. They can take the job and shove it. I come from a blue-collar background. I’m trying to do the right thing, and that’s where I’m going with this."
In a belated update, I arrived in New Orleans last night at 5:30 and by 10 had seen smonster, Nora, Tom, Daisy Jane's two cousins and the son one of her cousins, eaten crawfish, jambalaya and barbecue and listened to 2 local bands and drunk local beer.
Today I have been DEEP in conferencing. There are 15,000 people at this conference, and the convention center in New Orleans is like the size of a battleship, and there are TWENTY hotels with events in them.
Holy shit, I knew ALA was huge, but I had no idea.
I have a old friend from college there from Western Washington U -- her name is Elizabeth S., and I jokingly told her to say hi from me, if she ran into you, since it's such a SMALL conference.
I knew you guys wouldn't likely run into each other, but wow! 20 hotels.
I wonder if ALA is bigger or smaller than MLA?
I got up early and took some more ibuprofen, and then went off to sit with my mother, where I cleaned the kitchen and clipped the dog's nails. Then I came home and took a nap. And now I have done laundry and yard work and swept and mopped and wiped the front porch, and in a few minutes I shall take the dog for a long walk while I listen to some Discworld.
Last night was fun, but I really shouldn't have had the scotch on top of the cocktail and the sake. Bah.
