Gah. I've been working with my managers on retooling my position for like a year now, and I thought we were in gear this summer, and then everything stalled out and I'm so incredibly frustrated. Also worried, because other people in the company have not been sitting on their asses and so it's feeling like a good bit of what we envisioned for me is moving on ahead of us.
I sent out some emails today to start getting the ball rolling again. My boss is in the middle of a personal crisis so won't be moving anything forward any time soon. But this problem well predates that.
Ugh. I ate Too Much Lunch. Now I am uncomfortable and sluggish. Stupid Allyson.
I swear, the idea of having to market and sell my books my own self was the final proverbial nail in the coffin of my fond dreams of becoming a published writer.
It's a strange thing to expect of a writer, for sure. I love pimping my friends' work, but am horrible at doing it for me. Impostor Syndrome. If I believe that I suck, how am I supposed to convince strangers that I don't?
