"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yay for swimming! My pool is closed. Woe.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh! Fruit! I had some queso and whatnot in the airport with my mother, so I'm not actually hungry, but I have a taste for something sweet, and don't usually have anything sweet around, but I totally have apples!

I had the most ridiculous day today -- flew to New York and back, basically for a 30 minute meeting. I wish I had been able to get some more meetings scheduled, but couldn't. Eh.

I'll cheer you on virtually.

Having sampled Grace's food, I imagine you could create some tasty purees getting creative (hers were things like basically TG dinner all-in-one and sorta bland but with a top note of the dominant flavor, and of course necessarily calorie packed, which I'm guessing is less of a goal for you.) Sorta curious what you'll be making.

My sister told me that she made a lot of chili that she then blended into a puree when she had her surgery, which sounds like an excellent idea to me! I bought a pouch which only needs water and tomato paste added to it which I'm going to try out.

I'd think anything with a strong main flavor (chilis, curries, garlics) would be good. When the texture is minimal, seems like a kick is called for.

Kathy, do they have Bear Creek chili packets for sale near you? That stuff is great, especially if you dissolve a little brown sugar in the water before adding the tomato paste and chili mix.

I think what I bought was Bear Creek. Brown sugar, hmm? I'll definitely try that out!

I don't know if this meets your needs, but I've been fond of Desert Garden's dry soup mixes [link] for the occasional fix where I don't wanna actually cook all evening. Potato ones are nummy.

Oooh, cheaper at [link]

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Kathy, I'm so glad to see your pixels and hear that everything is going well! Also, the pureed chili idea sounds brilliant!
