Liese, do you mind reminding me what town you live in? Or name the nearest place big enough you don't mind saying.
It's the White Mountains. The nearest town is still small: Show Low. It's maybe three and a half hours northeast of Phoenix. It's about three and a half hours from everywhere, frankly, Tucson, Flagstaff, you name it, we're three and a half hours from it.
Jerome is actually a super beautiful area. It's near Sedona, which is one of our favorite local vacation spots. We spent the 2000 New Year's there before we ever moved out here and got snowed in on the trail, and we spent one of our anniversaries there, whereupon we totaled our van. But it's still great! You should go!
I just did the Grand Circle 2 years ago, but I would so do it again.
Yes, but you did it when I wasn't there, over the summer, right? You need to do it again when I am!
I, for one, am dying to stay in Liese's guest room. For the record.
You should all come!
Oh, wow. A family friend lives in Show Low. I've never been there, though. I love that town's name.
Named for the turn of a card. The town was originally ranchland, and the two ranchers said, this town isn't big enough for you and me. They played a card game for it, Show Low, and the guy won on the deuce of clubs, which is the name of our main street. There's a statue of them. You can get your picture taken sitting like you're playing cards with them.
Weight watchers, yes, and now you're completely dependent on their site for points calculation; which would not be a big deal if their site wasn't possibly the worst thing on the internet.
You can buy a PointsPlus calculator for $6 at a WW center. I'm trying to figure out the new plan. My meeting is on Sat so I reckon I'll figure it out then.

Huh. That's cool.
Bear Creek, WI was named after a man was attacked by a bear in a creek. OK, maybe not as cool as Show Low.
Well, my cousin and his wife are now running the only place to eat in Jerome, and currently they are the only people working there, so if you're ever in there, say hi from me!

I was about to say, screw that noise! But it probably is worth $6. Sigh. Actually, this is probably a good thing. I've been so frustrated lately with an inability to lose weight that I've been researching slimfast, of all things. Maybe this will get me back on track.
I went to Jerome once, but we blew a tire so it kind of turned into a nightmare.
I went to crip camp near Show Low.
The SO has been dropping weight like crazy on his diet/exercise regime he's worked out in barter with his trainer (he taught her conga lessons). But the big thing with him is water. She has him drinking half his body weight in ounces of water per day. She says the kidneys process toxins normally, but if they don't have enough water, they can't. So then the liver processes toxins instead. But the liver's other job is to break down fats. So if it's processing toxins, it can't break down fat. So the water (in addition to general good health hydration and appetite suppressant) helps your body function properly and break down fats.
I dunno, but he's lost over twenty pounds between that and the simple weight work he's been doing at home. I have lost six, but mostly because I refuse to stop eating so damn many noodles. Mmm, noodles.
Meanwhile, everyone should check out my super awesome knitting needle roll-up from the excellent Sox! It is so great. It is so much better than what I'd been using.
