I just wish she could see that the ongoing anger and resistance to change didn't start with her son, or even her marriage.

I sincerely hope the mother can see her way through this. For some of us, it takes years and figuring out who the hell we are while trying to maintain being the mom they need. It took time (re:years of therapy!!) to figure out I was angry with my ex, but he literally cycles with the moon so now I expect it, to being angry with myself for suppressing my orientation to please everyone else. The boy still has good and bad days, but he knows I am his advocate no matter what.

ION I found out this a.m. (thought I suspected for some time now) the kids are being physically bullied by their older, and much larger step-sibling at the ex's house. Ugh. and Shit!

Okay, so the SO talked to the housesitter and it looks like he just had the intern over, whereupon he left junk lying around the house including clothing, but he did not in fact sublet the job. So whew.

It's still a weird thing for the intern to have done, but he's a bit of a weird bird, so I believe it.

In related other news, our sunroom plants are ridiculously massive. They are huge. The housesitter joked that he almost stopped watering them because they scared him. I'll have to post another picture.

Allyson, If it is a sinus infection you need a doctor. And if it is not a sinus infection you still need a doctor to find out WTF is going on. If it is sinus, cold wet cloth over the entire nose (leave nostrils free for breathing), and forehead and eyes will help. Better than ice cause you can leave it as long as it takes. Won't make pain go away, but might make pain less. Just to get you through until you can see doctor.

I have just been asked to head the technology task force while the head of technology is out on family and medical leave, and I am in the process of beginning my recertification for National Boards. And I have piles and piles of grading. And final exams are in less than two weeks. And I'm applying to be the English department chair starting next year.

I think there may be something clinically wrong with me. I mean, apart from what I already know is clinically wrong with me.
