We have an old friend and his wife who is in town for dinner tonight. Emma Bull and Will Shetterly. Will was a big player in RaceFail on the Interwebs, and I suspect he has been getting quite an earful this week from his friend Doselle (who he is staying with) since Doselle is A. in the SFF community and B. black. Should be interesting to see how things have shaken out while we all sit around eating take-out Thai food.

Hee, Scrappy! When you greet him are you going to put an asterisk in his name? I will be super interested in what he has to say for himself.
Emma Bull the author? I loved "War for the Oaks".
When you greet him are you going to put an asterisk in his name?
Har.
I like Perfect Pint on 45th & 6th - very good beer with a pub menu. Fantastic lamb burger.
Intruiging! I'm not actually looking to drink, but will throw that out there.
That's the Emma Bull of Cats Laughing fame, right?
My head is fucking killing me. I am so tired. Work day, please advance by one hour.
Yes, both of them are writers and wonderful peeps. The Will I see in the Racefail stuff is literally not recognizable as the incredibly kind, open person I know.
I would be very curious to hear what Will would say face to face about the whole faily business myself. Very curious.
A conservative Loudoun County lawmaker says controversial airport pat-downs by the Transportation Security Administration are part of a "wide-scale homosexual agenda."
"That means the next TSA official that gives you an enhanced pat-down could be a practicing homosexual secretly getting pleasure from your submission," he wrote.
Timelies all!
Agh...Gary called while I was preparing the chicken for dinner and said he'd be a bit later than originally planned. So I finished the chicken and went to put the laundry in the dryer, figuring I'd put the chicken in the oven after that. I completely spaced on it and watched something off the DVR. I didn't realize I hadn't put the chicken in the oven until Gary got home and asked about it. Ok, so dinner will be a bit late....
