If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

There's this lipstick melting kit from Sephora I've been wanting to try:

Okay, reading this right after Steph's angler fish link in Bitches is a little weird.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Can't you be happy with your tiny fire?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Steph's angler fish link in Bitches

That is a weird yet awesome phrase.

I mean, sitting all on its own like that, it looks like something from a Viagra spam e-mail, doesn't it?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Can't you be happy with your tiny fire?

My tiny fire has a reservoir of butane. I HAS A CREME BRULE TORCH. AND I CAN USE IT.

Still, I want my perfect lipstick too.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I am now officially outnumbered. Two teenage boys in the house, both taller than me. I haven't seen Z since he was about 11 or 12. He is now 16 and 6'2". Yowza.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show, Brenda. I always like hearing the audience reactions for that production. The last counting house scene is especially fun when there are lots of kids in the audience.

So I was working on Christmas Carol thru Wednesday. Friday, I started on Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. How's that for a change of pace?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I am done grading for the night, now I just need to email my students their papers. I graded 50 papers in one week. Yay! Still have 5 left to go. Boo!

Coyotes: When I lived in Irvine I saw them fairly often, especially in the evening. Once I was taking a walk and I noticed 4 or 5 of just off the path. It was a bit disconcerting, to say the least, but they seemed pretty uninterested in me. The look they shot me was more, "hey Noisy, you're scaring the rabbits!"

Brenda, that makes me happy. ;)

I have no idea what this is (am about to go read Bitches), but gotta say--I somehow ended up watching Sarah Palin's Alaska this evening (along with the roomie and his gf). It was fascinating, in a bizarre way. Her accent mesmerizes me. And the fishing was also interesting. The family and her speechifying, less so.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I watched Mike Rowe deal with rotting pig corpses covered in maggots -- that seems like it would be less sickening than the Palins, on the whole.

My Comcast Internet went out really hard last night -- the support line to report it was overwhelmed, going straight to "call us back later". I wonder how widespread it was if the automated support lines couldn't keep up.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Me too! That was super traumatic!
