Oh my goodness, Liese!
I think I did that for my work trip this week -- booked the return for the following day by accident. Luckily, I changed both tickets anyway.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

So I'm making a tabbouleh-ish thing, but I don't have any lemon. Should I put some vinegar in, or no? If so, what kind of vinegar? I have several.
Rice wine vinegar or something mild like that would probably work.
Well, there's certainly worse places to be stranded than Chicago, which also has a spiffy public tranportation system that will take you really cool places like the Field Museum and so on!
but if you want to meet up earlier for a cocktail or early dinner I could totally do that.
Totally possible. (928) 369-8321 if you want to text or call. The hotel is this downtown Holiday Inn. Is that super far from you? Is there something near here? We're all "Transportation Ack!" right now and will be walking to the hotel from the train station. Hee.
The Bean (not it's actual name) at Millenium Park is actually very cool. And right next to the Art Institute.
I've found that houseboys don't always take care of the chores.
My houseboy went back to bed this morning. Though he did get up before me and took care of the dog poo issue in the kitchen, so I can't fault him for going back to bed.
Man, you guys, the dalmatian's back legs are getting weaker and weaker. I keep hoping the new "mature" dog food (more calories, extra supplement stuff) and the new vitamins we're giving her will help her. Tim keeps making noises about building her a cart for her back legs, but -- she would flail and freak out and knock stuff over (*very* small house, big dog). And I don't think he's serious anyway; he's just grasping at straws.
Bah.
Yeah, I know, Theo. On our way in I was looking at the Sears tower and stuff and sighed and said, "I wish I had some time to spend in Chicago proper." And now I do!
Yes, I would also reccomend the Art Institute, of which I got to see less than a quarter of and spent hours there, too.
The Aquarium is also super-fantastic.
Hijinks! THat'll make a good story. Enjoy your day in Chicago, Liese.
I'm very pleased with how my pancakes came out this morning, excet for the part where having the electric griddle and the dishwasher on at the same time tripped a breaker. But now I know. Hec's "add a lot of butter to the batter" waffle tip is also good for pancakes, btw.
I'll be Xmas shopping today (actually, birthday shopping for my niece who turns 12 (!) next week, but I'll be doing it at the Christmas Market downtown) with my mom. I have an hour, hour and half to finish getting ready, whcih includes moving all the clean but not yet folded laundry out of the living room and otherwise attempting to conceal the extent of my slovenliness...
