And I myself will be wearing pink taffeta as chenille would not go with my complexion.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Your stuffing will be fine, Connie.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I made the Pommes Pommes Savoyard and it's finishing now.

Turkey is in the oven.

Stuffing is made and covered and ready to cook.

Just need to make the filling for this carmelized onion tart which I'm going to put in a puff pastry and I'll be pretty set.

Mashed potatoes and steamed brocolli (with butter) will fill it out.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy Turkey Day!

Allyson, is it OK if had a little pang of envy when I saw that Oliver has a name, and that Allyson has a new kitty?

Pommes pommes savoyard sounds delicious, BTW, I looked at the recipe when you linked to it the other day.

I'm making the mashed potatoes now. I had to do SOMETHING. And the turkey is about to go in the oven.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I called home and my father had no intention of telling me anything. Apparently he tested positive for some sort of a blockage when he had his stress test and is going in for further testing next week, including some sort of nuclear something.

He managed to turn the conversation around and make it my fault, because I've already had all these tests (including some sort of isotope scan) and he didn't remember. Hardly, Father. That was years ago, up to 20. You? Just this week.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The Good Wife wiretap revelation stunned me! I had planned to come in here and talk about it right after the episode but I was too flabbergasted.

I never know what Kalinda is thinking. I suspect she just wants to keep the firm totally uninvolved, for what reasons I'm not sure. Blake came in with the new partner from DC, right? He's not really Will's guy, I thought.

All the stuff with the kids is a lot more interesting than they've ever been before.

Dad~ma, ita.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Parents are weird, and sometimes worrying. I hope your dad is okay and that he tells you so.

What Perkins said, there.

Stuffing is done. Mashed potatoes up next while my individual turkey thing is baking. And I bought individual key lime pie slices to substitute for my mother's lemon icebox pie. I could nuke the green bean casserole, but I'm thinking I already have a lot. Maybe I'll save it for leftovers. Aw, my mini solo Thanksgiving is going pretty well, actually. Yay for pre-made stuff, in a pinch.

Thanks, guys. I thought I'd yelled at him enough after the armed robbery, but apparently I wasn't inclusive enough about what constitured an event. Oy, parents.

Just got my invite to my cousin's wedding. The FTM groom is being given away by his mother, his mother's girlfriend, and his surrogate mother at the Hasidic ceremony. I have no idea what the bride's family thinks of all this. They don't know he's trans.

The bride's family requests modest clothing. The groom's family has requested the opposite. Now I'm wondering about the dress I've bought. Because the wedding party will be covered past their knees and elbows and everything. I...not. Oy. Whose wedding am I going to?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

In a parental note, my dad is apparently down in Australia for the next couple of weeks. And he as been there a couple of weeks. I never know where my dad is.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Boy, that wedding sounds like an etiquette minefield.

ita, I hope your dad comes through it all okay and that the penny drops about what's important to communicate.

I have tried to Google Metro rail schedules for today but it's looking like enough of a hassle that I may attempt to just bike to Chez PixDesigns. RT that would be about 10.5 mi. Will be interesting to see if I'm up to a 5 mi gentle but steady uphill.
