OK, anyone think of something easy and preferably savory to do with half a large can of pumpkin? The 29 oz cans were all I could find, and my pie recipe (which I just made) only calls for 16 oz can. I don't need another pie or anything sweet.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I had a delicious Afghan pumpkin thing last night -- it was chunks of squash with a meat sauce, but maybe looking that direction would lead you some spicing ideas.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ravioli, maybe? (Made with wonton wrappers so you don't have to roll your own pasta.)

ravioli is delicious, I just had some squash ravioli from TJ's...but I'd have to make it. That seems like a lot of effort. Pumpkin soup it is! :) (Though I am tempted by a "pumpkin pecan pasta casserole" a friend posted about, and a google finds me a yummy looking casserole...but again, I'd have to go get ricotta).

Nothing -ma to msbelle's mom.

Whew. I am wiped, and I'm still not done. The ham smells great and the in-laws came at 4 with the dining room table, with 6 chairs (one a captain's chair) and a sideboard. It was heavy as fuck, and big, and we had to move a ton of furniture just to get it in the house, then unwrap it, and set it up, THEN move all the old furniture back.

While I was trying to reduce a glaze for the ham. BUT! It is from the 30's and solid and beautiful, and I love it. I spent an hour dusting and lemon oiling it.

The ham got glazed and caramelized, it smells awesome! We have the china washed, and I just need to peel and chop 5 lbs of potatoes, make green bean casserole and polish two more chairs. Then I am DONE!!

Until tomorrow.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

The pie crusts are made. Next up cranberry salad. I think I will make the pie fillings in the morning while watching the parade. Since it's early I may make a green bean casserole as well, or cook up the meat for the sausage dip.
