Spike: At least give me Wesley's office since he's gone. Angel: He's not gone. He's on a leave of absence. Spike: Yeah, right. Boo-hoo. Thought he killed his bloody father. Try staking your mother when she's coming on to you! Harmony: Well…that explains a lot.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I hurt myself doing all that at one time, BT. You ruined my Thanksgiving!!

Gosh. I don't know whether to apologise or twirl my moustache.

I don't get a Thanksgiving! I'm all antipodean and such like. I do get a spring, though. I like spring, this is how it goes in Melbourne:

For me it begins before winter ends. in August, the golden wattle blooms. This is what the blooms look like: [link] And they turn entire trees golden: [link] My train ride to work each day passes entire stands of them. This is my favourite flower. I love the thick, bright colour, and the fact that it signals the end of winter.

Spring ends with two events. First is exam season. I had my exam yesterday, in Financial Econometrics. I'm not entirely happy with it, juggling study with work and Ryan didn't go so well this semester. Still, it's done now. My nights are my own once more!

The other thing November brings is bottlebrush: [link] They're pretty spectacular in bulk: [link] My neighbourhood is thick with these trees.

Melbourne is good for spring, is the point. Not as good as Canberra, but still. In conclusion, Ryan has apparently made his first friend. There's a boy by the name of Charlie at his daycare, and they like to hang out together. And he didn't even need the internet to do it! He's obviously some kind of prodigy or something.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ha! We have a bottlebrush tree in our backyard. Now it will remind me of you, billytea.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Seriously. If you're ever in real trouble, you want her on your side.

Seems to be something of a family trait.

I can live with that. California's a pretty good habitat for Australian flora. (Philly was tragically bereft of eucalypts.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wow, I just got sucked down the Etsy hole. Favourited a lot of stuff. I think I want to get my sister and I matching jewelry. If it's made in Cali, all the better. But we have to match.

This is a much better idea than the McNulty/Stringer porn she asked for. Or the computer.

I probably should have bought the pies today. Ah, well.

Right, sleep.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My pie is out and smells great. I think I need to sample it before t-day.

Now I'm feeling all ambitious and want to get on the turkey stock.

Where (if anywhere) do we discuss the Good Wife?

Just like Grey's? OK, can do. (Er, when I finish watching the current ep). Though I must say, the guy who plays Lemond Bishop is a FINE, FINE looking man.

Ooh, and according to his IMDB bio his brother is a Secret Service agent. hot.
