Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

In other news, I was grossed out yesterday hearing that Wal-Mart will be open all day on Thanksgiving, and will just roll into the Black Friday sales at midnight, but then I realized it's got to be at least partly to avoid stampedes. Which is something, I guess?

Makes sense. Kohl's is advertising that they're opening at 3 am. It strikes me that timing the opening to coincide with bar time could end badly.

Now tagless for your comfort.

David, I'm so sorry for your loss. We should all be able to think so well and remember with such clarity our first lover.

ION, our furnace is out. First day of snow here and it's pretty freakin' cold. I'm lighting a fire and turning on the tv for the kids to cuddle.

Art Crawl!!!

Oooh, that does sound like a big mistake.

Of course, in DeKalb the bars close a bit earlier than that. I hear that Kohl's is at 4 am and Best Buy at 5. (Or something. . . I am not a shopper and definitely not a Black Friday shopper.)

Or end well if you are the retailer!

With online shopping doorbuster sales seem sort of silly. Yet I want a new LCD/LED tv! Help. I'm contradicting myself!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, Dana! So much crap you really don't need.

Because books.

Old Navy is apparently open all day on Thanksgiving, too. So gross.

Ugh, Dana. I'm sorry.

I have decided that I'm going to make a key lime margarita pie to take to Thanksgiving with all my teetotaller relatives this year. It doesn't actually contain any alcohol, but there should be some funny moments if I'm asked what it is.

Ugh, what a week. We lost a very dear family friend this week. He's been in bad health for a while, but always sudden, you know?

But also, my boss's son was in a terrible accident over the weekend. He was helping someone push a disabled car and they were hit by another driver. He's in ICU. And now I just found out that my coworker's father had a heart attack last night.

This can stop now.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Many, many sympathies to all who need them.
