'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm so sorry, David -- I've had a couple long-time old friends die, whom, even if I didn't see them for years at a time, harked back to happy times or at least shared memories. Signposts, indeed.

Just last night found out that one of my favorite people from Due South fandom died suddenly ("Bluster", for those who knew of her) who gave me a fair amount of encouragement and friendship at a time I really needed it. So sad.

I've been told that the worst part of getting older is not infirmities, but that a lifetime of lovers, friends and acquaintances die on you before it's over.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, David. I'm sorry.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

David, I'm so sorry for your loss.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

David, I'm sorry.

SuziQ, I'm glad to hear that the dojo is taking things seriously. I am disappointed that the school did not have a better system to work things out for both boys. Seriously aggravating.

David, thoughts with you, her family, and her friends.

And because things sometimes need their own posts, am I crazy for considering adopting that adorable puppy I linked to yesterday?

I would only take it in if the people that have been caring for it say it can manage being an outside only dog. I know the cats are not ready (nor will they likely ever be) to share the house. But tomorrow the people will take it to a shelter and OMG it is so cute and trained and not likely to get big.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

David, I am so sorry.

Msbelle, I would be seriously tempted by that dog-- he is soooo cute. But possibly you would be taking on too much?

It's a little crazy, msbelle. As great as puppies are, (and god knows I want one) the first month or two with a new pet can be kind also be stressful as you have to adjust to a whole new routine/new member of the family. I don't know if you need any more stress right now?

Also, that pup might be too young for outside. I'm not a big fan of outside only pets anyway.
