The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Ooh, that is an interesting site, bon. I'll have to do more poking around on it.

I think all this ballot-stuffing for Palin just goes to show Tea Party folks still are not living in the reality-based community. For them, actual dancing skill doesn't matter, not when compared to the desire for "their side" to win.

I do think there is a disconnect. I get the impression that vocal Palin supporters think that detractors dislike her for personal reasons. While many of most detractors are more concerned about basic competence "Really? You want this person to run things?"

I do think she has a very good chance of getting the GOP presidential nomination. They need to keep her out of open-ended encounters with reporters, but I think that's easy enough to do. She's a good debater, she can stay on message and avoid addressing specific points well. Before I'd always thought there would be a more... serious candidate that would emerge, but I starting to think that might not be the case.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Oh, I was referring to the Palin daughter (forgot her name) on Dancing with the Stars... but I agree with your post.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Honestly, I don't think a lot of liberals watch the show. I continue to be horrified that it is the #1 show in America. I find it horrendous when I've seen it.

Bristol. I knew you were talking about her, but I think supporters see the vote as a proxy for personal approval of the mother.

Gotcha.

My mother watches it and it consistently horrifies me. But I definitely agree that the Tea Party crowd must somehow think that Bristol doing well on the show validates their cause? Or something insane like that. But her dancing is absolutely sub-par. As much as I dislike her and her family and all their political beliefs, I'm a dancer and I will fully admit to good dancing when I see it. There is NO WAY she should still be on that show.

I am also constantly horrified that it is the #1 show in America. Part of me wants to be glad that people are being exposed to dance, but if people want to see consistently GOOD dancing on television they should be watching So You Think You Can Dance.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

but if people want to see consistently GOOD dancing on television they should be watching So You Think You Can Dance.

But it's not on right now!

I wouldn't be surprised if my liberal grandmothers watch it, because they are both sick of horrible things happening in their entertainment. At least it's pleasant?

Did you cheat and get that from Jezebel?

I honestly didn't. it's just not a good picture of him.

I guess that's a fair point. But even when it is on, SYTYCD's ratings are far below DWtS, if I recall. Which is just not fair.

My mom is fairly liberal and she says she enjoys it. But she is constantly upset about the results, she can't stand the host, and seems more angry with it every week than glad she watched.
