I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

the episode Ben Edlund wrote for Supernatural

The episode? You mean the episode this week? Because he's written a bunch, and meta's kinda common ground for the show. They've written their fandom into their canon already.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I read that this morning! Pumpkins! Metaphors! If only it also referenced semi-colons, it might be the perfect comic.

And artificially seasonal food!

Oh my god, I glossed right over that. Mallomars!

Because books.

Yeah, he's written or co-written more than a dozen episodes.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OMG this is cute!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I knew just by looking at the preview that it was written by Edlund.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You mean the episode this week?

I guess so. It was funny as Edlund will do.

I didn't realize he was on staff. I thought he was just guesting.

Heh. He's a producer. Has been for a long time.

It was funny as Edlund will do.

So is the show, honestly.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I didn't realize he was on staff. I thought he was just guesting.

Yeah. He's one of the main peeps running the show. Been on board since S2.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

To be fair to Hec, that was kind of how io9 presented the clip ("remember the Tick guy? He wrote an episode of Supernatural!").

My cats are being ridiculously cute right now. Avon fell asleep on the console behind the tv because he thinks the hummingbirds that cast shadows on the tv are back there.
