Finishing The Sound and the Fury has been on my to-do list for months. ugh. Do not like.
Is that your onerous task? How much Faulkner can you read in an hour? Like, one sentence, right?
I would totally be into an Onerous Task Support Group. I have onerous tasks. They need doing. Who better than me?
What do you think would be a good time for all the different time zones?
2pm EST/11am PST? How does that work with the mountain state time zone? I guess you could have lunch at 1pm.
Man, work is so frustrating today. I feel like the communication between the office and me has broken down to where I know only about half of what is going on. Guess I need to call in if these next 4 weeks are going to be smooth. feh.

True story, my HS English teacher used to give me run-on sentence awards. Then we read Faulkner and I called BULLSHIT.
Yeah, time is pretty open for me since I set my own schedule. If we`re doing regular days of the week, Thursdays and Fridays are best for me, although obviously not during this upcoming holiday. Then any odious tasks will be offset by the resulting delicious foodstuffs, so motivation unnecessary!

I can do 11 am maybe. Might be able to finish the book. The last chapter is more readable than the early ones but geez. Apparently a character killed himself and I completely missed that until I read the wikipedia entry on the book.
Well, let's try it for this Thursday then at the hours I suggested.
I'll post something in Press to see if anybody else wants to play along. And if it turns out to be a good practice we can make it regular or semi-regular, or whatever works.
It's not exactly onerous, but I'm having a hard time getting it up for my NaNo novel. And I refuse to glower in their girlie forums and make someone else hate me "on sight" I like this idea...it's vastly improved. But that's still not enough to counteract the voice in my head that's all "Nobody's going to read this...save the carpel-tunnel for your sex life."
OK. I just made my coworker try to get me out of my bad mood, and now I am marginally less likely to growl, "Fuck off" at everyone who walks by me.
I guess that's a start.
