"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Happy Birthday, Hil!

I took a 4 hour nap today, and as a result am too groggy to drive to Memphis and try the new-ish Russian restaurant. But maybe it's for the best. I want to dress up a bit for it, and it's still too warm to wear a long sleeve shirt for a 3 hour round trp drive in addition to dinner. Oh well, maybe next weekend.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy birthday, Hil!

Happy hat day, Perkins!

We took the kids to the theater today, then bopped about Westwood for a while. Very successful family outing! PLUS I finished my grading for the weekend! I'm so happy I'm going to celebrate with too many exclamation points, and some wine.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

We just got back from this cool fundraiser at a church. All year people throw and glaze bowls. Then they get people and restaurants to donate soup. Then they have an empty bowl event, where people come and pay $15 and buy a bowl and get soup in it. Then the money they raise goes to 4 different organizations that are working at hunger abatement.

Website about the event: [link] They'll serve 500+ people tonight which is $75,000. Rather amazing.

We got two beautiful bowls and had dinner with the art teacher at my school. Very fun.
