This girl at school? She told me that gelatin is made from ground-up cow's feet and that every time you eat Jell-O there's some cow out there limping around without any feet. But I told her that I'm sure the cow is dead before they cut its feet off, right?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Out of nowhere, but since when does geekiness need a smooth segue? My friend on facebook points out that:

Did you know the longest extended Pi Day of our lives will be coming up in year 2015 on 3/14/15 at 9:26:53.589...

Ooh!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So how come a co-worker can say "Mochachino-stick-it-up-your-ass latte" to me, and I can't work out the right audience for SWAG? When did I get this tone deaf? Dammit.

Boss just asked me if I was going to be here until 4. Paranoia alert! I've left before him once in weeks, and that was yesterday. I'm going to have to convince myself it was just the pervasive niceness around here.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

happy little things: Mac goes to the grandparents' on Fridays, so I am cooking things where I get to use the Kitchen knives.

not at all happy thing: there is a dead squirrel in my bushes. Should I just get a shovel and bury it, or should I call animal control?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Shovel.

Cool No Bullying ad that includes a very interesting array of celebrities, including Cindy McCain specifically calling out DADT.

Punishingly Intricate

I'd call animal control, msbelle. yick!

I have a problem that's root is someone being really nice to me so I feel bad about it feeling like an added stressor. I have a good friend who has a flower shop in Belgium (called Baltimore!). When I told him I was getting married he offered to do my flowers for me. Now, if he hadn't offered I probably wouldn't have had (real) flowers at all. It's not something I really care about. But since he wanted to do them, I was on board. Well, he hurt his wrist and now needs an operation next week and will be out of commission for about two months. No bouquet making and no coming to the wedding. sad! SO he arranged for the fancy florist who he apprenticed with here to do our flowers. I have a meeting with them scheduled for Sunday and I have NO IDEA what to tell them to make for me. I was leaving it all up to the Belgian!

So does anybody have any suggestions for flowers for a winter wedding bouquet? I don't even know what's in season or whatever.

I'm sure the florist will also be completely patient with you having no idea.

I got a nice T Mobile employee today. My phone drops 3G/Edge ability about once a day, until I reboot. Tech support gave her a three step troubleshooting process. She performed step 1, told me to come in next week if I was still having the problem and she'd tell tech support she'd tried step 2 and get the phone replaced.

Someone elsewhere asked for gay male superheroes in mainstream comics, saying she could think of a lot of lesbians, and it occurs to me I can think of at least as many gay guys as lesbians (frankly, all I can think of is Renee Montoya right now, but that's not right).

My ex-manager did flower arranging on the side and did a couple of winter weddings - I can't find any photos on fb, but I do remember a wedding she did where she used holly, ivy, mistletoe and roses, and the bouquets looked amazing.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

msbelle, I'd just bury it. But don't touch it! Fleas.

My ex-husband is in wikipedia which is kinda...odd. [link] Oh, if only he was as mature as he was talented. Actually, I have to say he seems to have grown up a lot since we were married and is no longer a huge douchenozzle.
