Anya, the Shopkeepers of America called. They wanted me to tell you that 'please go' just got replaced with 'have a nice day.'

I bought a couple of adirondak chairs on Sunday and wanted to get a good waterproofer on them before the weather hit. Wasn't fast enough, but I have them mostly painted now. Tonight I need to flip them and get the parts I couldn't reach. Should be some interesting body contortions.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I just ordered a Christmas-themed cross-stitch kit to work on as soon as I finish my current piece (a few more weeks of backstitch, and it'll be ready for framing, after only working on it for over a year--I got away from it this year after starting school).

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

The Armistice Day Quiz

Today is Veterans Day, which gives us all a good opportunity to thank the troops who have served our country. The holiday was formerly known as Armistice Day, though, and it celebrated the armistice that ended the fighting in World War I. How much do you know about that armistice and the holiday it inspired? Let's find out.

I got 70%, but I guessed on a lot.

D has the day off, and he discovered USA is having a Burn Notice marathon all day, with new eps tonight.

And I am making a pot roast. He is happy as a pig in mud.

I drinks loads of brewed ice tea (decaf) with a shitload of lemon, never sugar.

When I am sick, though, I want milky black tea with sugar or honey.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Hi, guys.

So I'm thinking about opening my own vintage store. Like an actual meatspace one. I am kind of terrified of the logistics, though.
