I don't fancy spending the next month trying to get librarian out of the carpet.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Last year I worked from home on Thanksgiving and, aside from the time spent spraining the hell out of my ankle, on the Friday and weekend afterward. We had a huge project at work that was supposed to be completed Dec. 1. It was my first Thanksgiving without either of my parents, so I figured drowning it in a ton of work was a good way to adjust.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Wow, I totally forgot about that song! Good one.

I used to have SUCH a crush on the lead singer. I think the way he flung his hair really turned my 16-year-old self on.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I actually like working the day after Thanksgiving. Traffic is near zero. Nobody's around and nobody's going to call. Which means it's the perfect chance to get lots and lots of things done. Or, if I don't, who's going to notice?

This is me for the two working days between Christmas and New Year's - it's so relaxing to finally be able to get shit DONE!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I like working the day after Thanksgiving because it gives me an excuse to duck out on my family early.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

SlayerOS, give me a hint towards your FB name. Between FB, here, and Twitter, I can't keep all the pseuds and real names straight!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Someone please tell me to stay away from the cross stitch sites! I started out looking for kits for Christmas tree skirts (something I don't have but really could use, and I'd love to make one for myself but since I don't sew, doing a cross stitch piece would be perfect), and got distracted by other Christmas kits that I love but don't have the time to work on (and it's not like I don't already have tons of pattern books waiting for me to do).

Ann, that's a ferret.

I generally work that week (though it's usually more like 3-1/2 days) as well. Also great for traffic. Except some crisis always seems to pop up, and I'm the only one around to deal with it.

Now tagless for your comfort.

It's the name of the slayer we all love and she's related to javachick via a shared last name.

I bought Liv her first Pixie Stix. I fear I've unleased a monster.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My department is dropping like flies! The boss is still out, one coworker out sick, and the other coworker who was out sick yesterday just left early.
