I hate the dark afternoons, mostly because Sara's not home till almost four, which gives her only an hour of outdoor time. Also, it feels like we should be eating dinner at 5:30.
sara, that's really sort of awesome.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I have to say, I kinda like the camaraderie of Y members; kinda funny and unexpected. I know the regulars at the pool, though not by name, but by pace and temp preferences. Though I'm always a little weirded out to see women I've seen nude at the market....
That's cool, sarameg!
I'm of two minds on this time of year. On the one hand, LA is at its most beautiful in fall. The winds blow the smog away and everything is crisp. And I definitely like fall LA temps over summer LA temps. But my depression really really doesn't like the lack of daylight.

Now I'm a little weirded out by your market.
OK, that was punctuated/phrased wrong...
I may have done a snarky thing. Thanks to the miracle of Google Alerts, I am notified whenever "Gothic Charm School" is mentioned. Like, say, when a munchkin on "Emo Scene Community Forums" starts a thread titled "gothic charm school" and posts "u ppl ask questions and i answer .. ^__^"
Because then I give into temptation, make a login on that forum, and reply with "How interesting. Where are you going to get the answers? :)"
So cool sarameg that you are so inspiring!
Today was such a gorgeous day. I could see the Hollywood sign from my back room, and was able to see it all the way on my drive in to work too.
But ita, I totally get your frustration with the early nightfall. You realize of course that it's Daylight Savings Time what spoils us--aren't we back on standard Pacific Time right now?
I just omegled. It's like chat roulette without cameras. And *I* got cut off in conversation. I'm quite hurt.
I am so old and out of it that ita's post is all blah blah blah blah conversation blah.
I'm sitting with you, Kat. Omegled? All I can come up with a combination of Google and omelets.
