Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Because books.

I have to schedule about five different appointments today, so I'm in heavy Avoid mode.

brillig

re: Sherlock: I cannot stand that Moriarty. The original was ruthless and brilliant, not flat out nuts. And the voice going all over the place was highly annoying.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I'm so with you, Connie. Honestly, I envision Moriarty as played by Alan Cumming.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Today is going to be long. And I suspect I will have the word transfixtured stuck in my head for much of it.

I should go buy myself some breakfast.

Annnddd while writing that he called. Job ends 12/31. damn. ok, we'll I really don't want to have to get a FT, but I've been lucky to have this long of PT work. sigh.

hip deep in pie

Well, crap msbelle. I'm sorry.

thanks to b.org, I know that I had the lead flashing re-leaded in 2009. Which will help when I call and tell them it started leaking during our 3 days of heavy rain, and hey could they fix that for free. Fortunately, it had only leaked a tiny amount.
