Oh man, something spooked the fuck out of Loki and well, at least I now know he knows where he lives. He raced so hard on the sidewalk he tore 4 or 5 of his claws. Poor Lokis. He was utterly terrified, and I have NO IDEA what set it off.
He seems to be recovering fine. Poor baby. He's just been spooky outside today.
I finally roasted most of the vegetables in my house. I'm making some carrot-parsnip soup, and we'll see how that goes. I think I'm going to freeze the beets for now, and still have to figure out the squash.
Who is Vince McMahon?
I noticed that
Blame and Zenyatta are similarly bred - Blame is sired by a son of Kris S out of a granddaughter of Mr. Prospector and Zenyatta is sired by a grandson of Mr. Prospector out of a daughter of Kris S. Must be a popular cross.
OK, I just bailed on my evening plans, which kinda sucks. Did my hair and makeup and everything. Loki's just being waaaay too spoked and weird acting (keep hiding under the bed,) and I want to keep an eye on him. I'd worry all night otherwise.
I'm applying catnip. I really think he just was seriously terrified (he knocked a trashcan over in the race back to the door and that made it worse) but...
That's totally the call I would have made too, sarameg.
I may go join them later if he starts acting normal. Maybe.
Ugh, sarameg. I hope both you and Loki recover from his fright soon.
I emptied the dishwasher! I even put some dirty dishes in to it again.
It's not much, but it's something.
lisah, did your restaurant Hannah do a Stoop story? Because I'm thinking I'm hearing it.
Addendum: Pretty sure Loki's issues are fear-based, though I'll keep an eye on the toes, since that probably is uncomfortable. I put him back on the harness, which was fine. But when I took him outside, he wouldn't get off the porch, which is unheard of.
He'd been hiding under the bed in the spare room, which he never does, so that was part of why I freaked. Other part was he was running from me, and not in a fun way. I brought down the foam cube cathouse and put him in it with some catnip within view of me, and that seems to have taken care of his fear of me. He's also washing the injured paws now, so that seems good.
At this point, I think my eyes are too poofy to go out. We won't talk about the raccoon face (I had full makeup on at the time.)
I was so looking forward to going out with the crew, but even now, I just wouldn't enjoy it.
